Probate Records Relating to Grates Cove, Newfoundland Residents
This will from Lower Island Cove is of importance, because James and Ann Snelgrove are believed to be the founders of the Grates Cove family. It appears that their eldest son John, moved to Grates Cove, perhaps having gone first to Western Bay. John appears on the 1800-1801 census for Grates Cove, along with his family.
